Framing Standards

Framing Standards
ALL GARBAGE IS PUT IN A DUMPSTER
All lumber scraps are in one neat pile (house is swept out)
Any extra lumber is placed on kickers by the curb
Keystones are on all of barge peaks
Any gaps in bird blocks over 1/8" are caulked
All valley tail framing is tight and no nails are exposed
2x2 is installed on all gables and all ext. braces are removed
All windows are installed properly (shim window ¼" up from sill, install moist stop, caulk top and both side behind window flange, nail all side of window flange, widow are level, plumb, and square within 1/8"
All doors are correct width and height (level both ways, king stud and trimmers are square to bottom plate, trimmers are nailed 2 nails on outer edge every 2 feet, initial each door after it has been checked.)
All interior non-bearing walls are frames 24" O.C.
No waned edges facing out on any rough opening.
No stud bowed more than ¼"
All tip-up nails are removed from all ext. walls
All exterior walls are nailed down at the outer edge of the bottom plate
Fireplace and tub deck are framed to Manor specs
Stairwell rim and all ext. corners are notched for insulation
Stairwell rim lines up with downstairs and upstairs walls
All hold downs and straps are installed and nailed off
Treads and risers are ¾" -1" away from stairwell walls (all open stairwells have safety rail)
Attic access and crawl hole framed (check plan for attic access location, trim crawl hole lid 1/8")
Standard bathroom framed to 5' 1/8" inside (all tub and shower backing installed)
Roof safety bracket is installed correctly
All corners and top plates have sheetrock backing (45 degree corners have backing)
All dead spaces are sealed and fire blocked
All arches and coffered ceilings are framed per plan
All sheathing is nailed per engineering (galvanized nails in mudsill)
Review and complete all truss and framing engineering requirements
Shear wall inspection is signed off (plan is left on site in good condition)
Fireplace pop out's get hipped roof's
All lower level side facing roofs have no over hangs (2x4 nailed flush with 2x6)
Garage surround held out œ" from inside (hand nailed with galvanized nails flush to wood)
Notch tops of all porch posts 2" down
If there are any framing corrections it is the framers responsibility to recall the inspection in once the corrections are complete
